Job Title: Student Operations Specialist
Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School (CCPS) is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Student Operations Specialist to join our team. As CCPS expands its enrollment, this role is critical in maintaining the safety, efficiency, and logistical integrity of our daily school environment.
This position is designed for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at managing the non-instructional systems that make a school day successful. The focus of this role is to support the growing efforts and needs of the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program, student attendance support, and instructional materials processing and maintenance.
Position Details
- Job Type: Full-Time (Approx. 196 contract days; most school breaks off)
- Base Hours: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm | Monday – Friday
- Compensation: $28,000 – $45,000 annually (Based on experience/qualifications)
- Direct Supervisor: Senior Admin Team
Job Responsibilities
The Student Operations Specialist ensures school-wide operational efficiency and student safety through the following duties:
Meal Program & Compliance
- National School Meal Program: Lead the daily counting and recording of student meals to ensure full compliance with federal and state program requirements.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records for the meal program and prepare operational reports as requested by the Senior Admin Team.
Logistics & Administrative Support
- Materials Management: Coordinate the processing of books, manage equipment inventories, and prepare resource materials for school-wide use.
- Attendance Support: Assist in communicating attendance expectations and interventions with families, as required by the Attendance for Success Act.
Supervision & Student Safety
- Campus Monitoring: Actively monitor student activities in common areas, including hallways, lunchrooms, school grounds, and bus loading areas.
- Traffic Coordination: Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic during peak drop-off and pick-up hours to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
- Non-Instructional Oversight: Supervise students during transition periods, such as restroom breaks, snack times, and clothing/locker areas.
- Event Support: Assist with the logistical coordination and supervision of students during field trips and school-wide events.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Valid New Mexico Educational Assistant License (or the ability to obtain one).
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Requirement: Must be 18+ years of age.
- Academic Credential: Must have successfully passed the ParaEducator/ParaPro exam OR have completed 48+ college credit hours (including 15 hours of non-remedial Math and English).
- Core Skills: Excellent organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication, and the ability to make sound decisions independently.
